Introduction

The opening cinematic: from the first edit to the beta

The opening cinematic is the first piece that introduces the world of Caos Entre Reinos. Its introduction is built from 21 blocks in Spanish and English and tells a key transition: the old balance between realms, the seal breaking after the Guardian of the End is defeated, a second age of chaos and the awakening of a new hope.

01 · The beginning

The beginning: script and first version

The work began by cleaning up the introduction’s base script and defining its main flow. On June 17, 2026, the Spanish video was edited and the base script was prepared. At this stage, the priority was making the piece communicate the premise clearly before adding audio layers or deciding its final integration.

On June 18, the English video was created. From that point, the two main language versions existed, but they were not yet considered the final closure: the edit still needed review and the voice-over integration still had to be resolved.

02 · Reviewing the Spanish video

Reviewing the Spanish video

On June 19, the Spanish cinematic was reviewed for specific issues. We checked pacing, sound, transitions and possible mistakes, then completed the final touches. That same day, the Spanish script was prepared and sent to Benny to begin the voice-over work.

The review helped separate two states that are easy to confuse: the video could be edited and ready to show, while the complete experience still depended on audio, subtitles and in-game integration.

The piece had to work first; integration came next

The video, script, voices and entrance into the game were different parts of the same job.

03 · The voice-over decision

The voice-over decision

On June 18, Benny’s voice-over was still missing. The operational decision was to wait until Sunday, June 21 at 21:00, to see whether the audio arrived in time. If it did not, the plan was to publish the cinematic videos on June 30 and keep the dubbing for the game. A short Spanish render for in-game integration also remained pending.

The situation changed on June 23: Benny delivered the final audio. Even so, it was not integrated immediately. The audio task recorded that the voice-over and audio needed polishing first. Specific cinematic sound work, volume mixing, stereo positioning and UMG subtitle review also remained open.

The decision was to delay voice integration until a more polished version was ready. Receiving the audio was a confirmed milestone; having it polished inside the cinematic was a later step.

04 · First integration in beta 0.0.5.8

First integration in beta 0.0.5.8

On June 21, the cinematic’s main flow was closed. On June 23, the undubbed version was integrated at the beginning of demo 0.0.5.8: the experience opened with the video and moved directly into the start of the game when it ended.

The private beta was prepared for three selected community testers and opened between June 25 and 28. In that build, the cinematic was present, but without Benny’s final voices. The received audio was reserved for a future integration after polishing.

This integration let us validate the cinematic’s role in the real flow without presenting that version as the definitive edit. Build 0.0.5.8 was confirmed as a closed beta test, and the notes recorded that the undubbed cinematic opened the mode and led into gameplay.

05 · The change for 0.0.5.9v

The change for 0.0.5.9v

The later iteration changed the piece’s status. The later beta-tester candidate became 0.0.5.9v, with fixes and performance improvements. In that candidate, the opening cinematic was temporarily removed for a remake and to verify that the game started correctly without it.

The latest documented status is therefore not cinematic finished: it is a piece with Spanish and English scripts and videos, reviewed and tested inside 0.0.5.8 without dubbing, whose final audio was received but whose integration was postponed, and which was later temporarily removed from 0.0.5.9v for another revision.

The cinematic has found its place in the game flow

Now we need to decide which version deserves to stay and finish it with the right audio, subtitles and edit.

06 · The real next step

The real next step

The remaining work is divided into three fronts: polish and integrate Benny’s audio in a future version; review cinematic sounds, mixing, stereo positioning and UMG subtitles; and decide whether to publish the current undubbed videos while the new version is being completed, as well as render the short Spanish version for the game.

The web publication should identify which video is being shown and which build it comes from. A version still being remade for 0.0.5.9v should not be presented as final.

Closing

The story is not closed yet

The opening cinematic went through several stages: it began as a 21-block script, became an edited Spanish version, gained an English version, was reviewed shot by shot for pacing and transitions, was prepared for voice-over, integrated without voices in beta 0.0.5.8 and then temporarily removed from 0.0.5.9v for a remake.

The story is not closed yet, but the direction is clear. The piece must introduce the world, sound right and lead the player into the game without any part of it feeling provisional.

Follow Caos Entre Reinos: Reborn as we turn its first scene into the definitive entrance to the experience.

The opening cinematic is still evolving, but its purpose remains clear: to be the first true entrance into the world of Caos Entre Reinos.
