Hotfix 0.0.5.8.2: Goodbye to the Ghost “Access Verified” Card

What happened?

Several players reported the same issue: while they were in the middle of a game, an AIKOGX · Store · Access card appeared out of nowhere with the message Access verified.

The card would not disappear, remaining over the game even though everything else continued to work normally.

It was a small visual problem, but it was distracting and frustrating during a session.

What was causing it?

The card belongs to our access verification system. It is the check the game performs with AikoGx Launcher to confirm that an account has access before allowing the player to continue.

Under normal conditions, it appears for a few seconds when the game starts, shows Access verified and then closes automatically.

The bug happened when the game loaded a new map, such as entering a match, changing areas or returning to the menu. The card was shown again even though access had already been verified, while the code responsible for closing it only ran once.

That lifecycle mismatch left the second card permanently visible. A small bug, but a very annoying one – and completely ours.

What did we fix?

The issue has now been fixed at its source. Once your account has been verified, the card will no longer appear again during the session.

Access verification now stays out of the way after it has completed, allowing you to focus on the game.

We also added a new automated regression test to the game’s test suite. The suite is currently 19/19 green, and the new check will fail if this behaviour is accidentally reintroduced.

What do you need to do?

Open AikoGx Launcher. If you have version 0.0.5.8.1 installed, the update to ALPHA 0.0.5.8.2 should appear as available.

Update the game and get back to the realms.
